Are ‘Toon Tumblers® dishwasher safe?
Yes. The images are made of ceramic and are annealed onto the glass at 1200° F. The images are not going anywhere.
That said, there are certain considerations that apply to most decorated glassware. Like any decorated glassware, repeated dishwashings will, depending on the hardness of your water, the harshness of your detergent, and the settings on your dishwasher, gradually reduce the gloss on the image over time. Also, we have learned that Cascade gel can be harmful to the image. If you want to keep your ‘Toon Tumblers® in collectible condition, you might want to hand-wash them. Don’t be put off by these warnings—we have hundreds of repeat ‘Toon Tumblers® customers who dishwash their glasses everyday and report no problems.
How are ‘Toon Tumblers® shipped?
We ship them in double- and triple-walled cardboard boxes. Our preferred method of shipping is FedEx Ground. On some occasions, such as addresses consisting of PO Boxes or rush weekend shipments, we use USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.
Are ‘Toon Tumblers® made in the U.S. or overseas?
For a number of reasons, including safety, both the glassware and the decorations on ‘Toon Tumblers® are made in the U.S.
Is there lead in ‘Toon Tumblers®?
The “paint” used in ‘Toon Tumblers® is considered lead-free. Even prior to firing, there are negligible parts per million of lead in the images. After firing, even this tiny amount is burnt off, resulting in virtually lead-free images. In addition, ‘Toon Tumblers® exceed all FDA and state standards regarding decorated glassware.
